Pot odds

Calculate the share of the final pot needed for an additional cost to break even in a simple model.

Calculate the threshold

P already includes the opponent’s latest bet. C is only the amount to add now. Both fields use the same units.

Estimated equity, % (optional)

Three bet sizes

The pot starts at 100 before the opponent bets. Quarter pot: bet 25, so P=125,C=25. Half pot: bet 50, P=150,C=50. Pot-sized bet: 100, P=200,C=100. The opponent bet enters P exactly once.

With P=150,C=50 the final pot is 200 and the threshold is 25%. Given 30% equity, the modeled EV of the additional cost is +10.

How to read the result

Threshold = C/(P+C). With equity supplied, EV = q×(P+C)−C. Equity includes a share of tied pots and is not simply outright win probability. Comparison uses unrounded values.

Model: one available pot, with no rake, side pots, future betting or tournament chip utility. The fraction can be calculated on any street, but this EV assumes the stated share is realized without further investment. It is not an action command.
