Omaha High with five hole cards

The fifth hole card increases the number of possible pairs in your hand. The combination rule remains the same: exactly two of your own plus exactly three of your common ones.

Selecting an acceptable five

From five hole cards, you can choose ten different pairs. On a full board there are ten ways to choose three out of five total. The calculator compares only such valid fives and selects the best one. You cannot use three, four or five hole cards together.

The highlighted A♥ K♥ and Q♦ J♣ 10♠ give a high straight. The remaining three hole cards do not participate.

What does the calculation show?

The probabilities refer to one common pot, High. Unknown hands are chosen with equal probability from the available cards. Given known hands on the flop, turn or river, the calculator can go through all valid future cards on the board; in other cases, it models outcomes.

The number of opponents from 1 to 5 is a limitation of this version of Shansio. It does not describe the maximum number of participants in all Omaha games.
